American whaler Balaena lying in October off St. Helena according to the Whalemen’s Shipping List dated Tuesday 12 December 1865

An item reported that the bark Balaena of Sagharbor was lying on 3 October at St. Helena with a catch of 165 barrels sperm oil and 250 barrels whale oil. In a storm lost she her main yard, topmast and jbboom and was one sailor killed. The brig Myra captain Babcock of Sagharbor had a catch of 280 barrels whale oil
