An item reported that the British destroyer HMS Ghurka during a trial of 6 hours had a medium speed of 33,91 knots and on the measured mile was a maximum speed of 34,25 knots achieved. She travelled the 270 miles from Sheerness towards the Tyne in 10 hours. The speed of 27 knots and moderate sea was maintained with 4.5 of the boilers.(1)
