American whaling bark North American visited Honolulu, Hawaii according to the newspaper The Polynesian dated 6 June 1840

An item reported the arrival at Honolulu, Hawaii on 21 May of the American whaling bark North America captain Richards of New London 7 months out 150 barrels oil needing repairs although the damage amount was unknown. She had ben ashore of the Galapagos.
