American cruisers USS Rochester and USS Juneau added to the US Pacific Fleet according to the Dutch newspaper Het nieuwsblad voor Sumatra dated 12 December 1949

Oregon City-class heavy cruisers

An item referred to a statement of the US Department of Navy that the US Pacific Fleet was to be strengthened by the heavy cruiser Rochester (1) and the medium size cruiser USS Juneau(2), both part of the US Atlantic Fleet. The reason for this transfer was to obtain a better balance in the strength of both fleets. The Atlantic Fleet numbered 160 against the 85 large ships of the Pacific Fleet.
