American whaler Columbia wrecked according to the newspaper The Polynesian dated 8 August 1846

An item reported the arrival at Honolulu, Hawaii on 4 August of the American whaling ship Bengal captain Frink reporting the loss of the American whaler Columbia captain Kelly of New London 26 months out 2,500 barrels oil on the King’s Mill Group. Kelly seemed to be on board of the Isaac Hicks. The locals took possession of the wrecked and ransomed the survivors for tobacco. They were saved by a passing ship and brought to Guam.
