Part of the Marcello-class submarines, consisting of the Marcello, Dandolo, Veniero, Provana, Mocenigo, Nani, Barbarigo, Emo, Morosini, Comandante Cappellini and Comandante Faa'di Bruno. Reproduced Glauco-class. Speed 17.4 (surfaced)-8 (submerged) knots. Range surfaced 7.700 nautical miles/9.4 knots and submerged 120 nautical miles/3 knots. Dimensions 73.00 x 7.20 x 5.10 metes or 239.6 x 23.7 x 16.9 feet and displacement 1.059 (surfaced)-1.3121.313 (submerged) tons.Crew numbered 57 men including 7 officers. Diving depth 100 metres. Armament consisted of 12-53.3cm/21” torpedo tubes (6 fore and 6 aft), 2x1-10cm4” cal 47 guns, 2x1-13.2mm/0.52” guns. Pennant DO.
Built by CRDA Monfalcone, Italy. Laid down on 14 May 1937, launched on 20 November 1937, commissioned on 25 March 1938, stricken on 1 February 1948 and broken up.
