First Communist China Riga-class destroyer commissioned according to the Australia Station Intelligence Summary dated 1 February 1957

An item reported that the first Chinese-built Riga-class destroyers was definitive commissioned and now working up.

Note

1. Jane’s Fighting Ships 1958-1959 mentioned 3 units calling these ships escorts with a standard displacement of 1,200 tons. The first one was launched around 28 April 1956 by Hutung Shipbuilding Factory, Shanghai with a light tripod mast.
