Former German battleship SMS Baden sunk according to the Weekly Intelligence Summary No. 19 for the week ending 27 August 1921

Bayern-class

An item reported that firing trials etc. using the former German battleship SMS Baden as target were completed and she sunk on 17 August 7.3 miles degrees from Casquets Light in latitude 49.50 north and longitude 2.21.20 west.(1)

Note

1. Part of Bayern-class, designed between 1910-1912, preceded by the König-class and was to be succeeded by the never realized L20a-class. Built under the Naval Law of 1912. Order as the Ersatz Wörth in 192, laid down at Schichau-Werke, Danzig with yard number 913 on 20 December 1913, launched on 30 October 1915, commissioned on 14 March 1917, beached in Gutter Sound, Scapa Flow, Orkney Islands on 21 June 1919 and sunk as a target on 16 August 1921.
