Japanese passenger-cargo ship Lima Maru 1919-1944

Call sign JCMD. Laid down by Mitsubishi Zosen Kaisha, Nagasaki, Japan on 24 October 1919, launched on 25 March 1920, handed over on 25 April 1920, army transport 1 September 1937-30 March 1938, requisitioned by the army on 13 September 1941 and sunk by the American submarine USS Snook about 30 miles south of the Golo Archipelago on 8 February 1944. Gross tonnage 6,989 tons, under deck 4,904 tons , net tonnage 4,298 ton and dimensions 445.0 x 58.0 x 34.0 x 9 (light)-27 (loaded) feet. Reciprocating propulsion. Fitted out for deep tanks for carrying oil in bulk.
