Romanian trawlers active on the Georges Bank according to the Commercial Fisheries Review dated July 1967 No. 2

An item reported that Romania started fishing in subarea 5 of the ICNAF which was the Georges Bank in 1965. For this purpose were the large stern factory trawlers Galati and Costanta bought in Japan. Between June-October 1966 both ships were still active on the Georges Bank mainly catching herring.(1)

1. The Georges Bank is situated between Cape Cod, USA and Cape Sable Islands, Nova Scotia, Canada.
