Mutiny within the Brazilian navy according to the Dutch newspaper Nieuwe Rotterdamsche Courant daily edition dated 27 November 1910

According to a tiding dated Rio de Janeiro 26 November was the calmness in the city restored. The ships which stayed during the night at sea started to enter the harbour despite still showing the red flag. The rebels were to surrender that day at 12.00 o’clock. New officers to command the ships were appointed. Another tiding dated 14.45 o’clock reported the arrival of the ships at 13.30 o’clock. The leader of the mutiny left with 40 other accomplices the Minas Gerais and probably fled. The red flags were still hoisted. The minister of navy sent a officer to investigate the situation. The navy club was to held a meeting the same evening about their attitude in case of amnesty proposals.According to a tiding dated Paris 26 November informed the Brazilian representative the newspaper Temps that he received a telegram from Rio de Janeiro according to which more officers were killed during the outbreak of the mutiny and that the non commissioned officers were set on land.
