Of the White Star Line with as homeport Liverpool, United Kingdom. Her building at the Harland and Wollf shipyard at Belfast, Ireland was ordered on 17 September 1908, she was laid down with yard number 401 on 31 March of the next year, launched on 31 May two years later, completed on 2 April 1912 and started with her maiden voyage on 10 April 1912 to be lost five days later after colliding with an iceberg causing the death of 1,514 people. The wreck was in 1985 found back.

With a displacement of 52,310 tons and a gross tonnage of 46,328 tons were her dimensions 882’6”x 92’0’x 34’7” and a depth of 64’6”. The 29 boilers, two steam engines and one steam turbines allowed a speed of 21 (cruising)-24 (maximum). Her passenger accommodation was suitable for 2,435 people while her crew numbered 892 men.
