The British navy according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 7 August 1824

London, 3 August. Saturday arrived letters from Bombay, British Indies dated 22 March reporting that commodore Grant on board of the frigate Liffey departed to the coast with Coromandel, British Indies with another 2 ships to support the actions against Burma.(1) The 74-gun ship Asia, a new ship, was to depart within 10 days towards England.(2)

1. 50 gun 4th Rate built of pitch pine, launched at Wigram, Blackwall 25 September 1813, broken up July 1827, dimensions 159’0”x 42’0’, and a builders’ measurement of 1.240 tons.
2. A 84-gun (pierced for 86 guns) 2nd rate laid down at Bombay dockyard launched 19 November 1821, 19 January 1824, guard ship 1858m sold 1908, dimensions 197’0” x 52’0” (Colledge)/196’4½ (gundeck)-192’5½” (for tonnage) x 51’5½” (Wadia) and a builders’ measurement of 2.279 (Wadia)-2.289 tons (Colledge). Elliptical stern.
