American whaler Annawan sold but remained whaler according to the Whalemen’s Shipping List dated Tuesday 6 September 1859

An item reported that the brig Annawan of Mattapoisett, USA of 159 tons was sold on an auction on last Saturday for a price of 2.112 US dollars. Her new owners messrs. Josiah Holmes&Brothers intended to keep her using as a whaler.
