According to the concept Italian naval budget of 1909-1910 consisted the Mediterranean squadron of 14 battleships: 4-Regina Elena, 2-Pisa, 2-Regina Margherita, 3-Garibaldi, 3-Re Umberto-classes and 5 scouts: 2-Agordat and 3-Urania-classes. The squadron was commanded by 1 vice admiral and 4 rear admiral. Further more consisted the fleet of 10 destroyers, 26 ocean going and 70 coastal torpedo boats and 7 submarines.
