An item reported that the Egyptian fishing fleet hardly changed in 1959. At the moment it numbered around 485 small motor fishing boats and 1,500 small sailing boats excluded the inland lake boats. There were no fish and shrimp trawlers available what the expansion of the Egyptian ocean fishing industry significantly limited.
