Libyan canning company processing Japanese landed tuna according to the Commercial Fisheries Review dated January 1960 no. 1

An item reported that a tuna canning company at Zuara, Libya canned also tuna landed by Japanese tuna fishers. The result was that the season which standard in Libya ended in August with three monhts was expanded to December. Although the tuna was smaller the meat was whiter and believed to be attractive to the Americans in Libya. Problem was still the customs duties for the Japanese landed tuna assessed by the Director of Customs.
