Mexican gunboat annex military transport Durango 1933-2001

Building ordered in 1932. Laid down by UN de Levante, Valencia, Spain in October 1933, launched on 28 July 1936, completed in July 1936, training ship in 1982 and preserved in 2001. Sister ship Zacatecas. Displacement 1,600 (standard)-2,000 (full load) tons and as dimensions 86.0 (between perpendiculars)-92.4 (over all) x 12.2 x 3.05 metres. Propulsion consisted of 2 sets Parsons geared steam turbines and 2 Yarrow boilers supplying via 2 shafts 6,500 hp allowing a maximum speed of 20 knots and with 400 ton oil bunker capacity a range of 3,000 nautical miles/15 knots. Armament of 2x1-10.2 cm cal 45 Vickers Mk LA guns, 2x1-57mm cal 40 Hotchkiss guns, 2x2-25mm cal 60 Hotchkiss guns and 2x2-12.2 cal 76 guns. Crew 141 men. Able to transport 490 military, 80 horses.
