The Brazilian and Portuguese navies at Bahia according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 19 August 1823

London, 15 August. According tidings from Bahia dated until 24 June were the Portuguese troops there making preparations to return to Portugal lacking every thing. General Madeira seemed to have ordered to depart around 25 June. It was believed that the Brazilians would allowed that the Portuguese squadron also departed but hat they would incorporate the ships into the Brazilian imperial navy.
