Dutch frigate Zr. Ms. Bellona passes Purmerend, Netherlands according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 18 December 1824

Amsterdam, 16 December. The Dutch frigate Zr. Ms. Bellona passed after a very successful voyage in the evening of 14 December the large locks at Purmerend and came close near Spijkerboor. It was expected that she would arrived at Alkmaar 16 December and tomorrow the Nieuwe Diep without any haste being towed by just four horses. It proved that that for passing this channel for larger ships (Noordhollandsch kanaal) less horses were needed as first thought.
