The Greek and Turkish navies in the Mediterranean according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 4 April 1823

Constantinople, 28 February. The flotilla, which recently sailed to the Archipelago to protect the communication between Constantinople and Little Asia and Egypt was pursued by the Greek navy and forced to enter the Bay of Tenedos and was now blockaded. The Captain Pasha was ordered by the sultan to depart soon but the repairs just slowly went ahead and due to lacking enough sailors the crews were not complete.
