The launching of the Dutch merchant frigate ship Cornelis Houtman at Amsterdam according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 31 December 1825

Amsterdam, 30 December. At the yard Hollandia was 24 December in the presence of a large public the merchant frigate ship Cornelis Houtman of circa 400 lasten launched by shipbuilder Cornelis van Swieten. She was destined for the line Netherlands-Dutch East Indies and built for Mrs. Gebroeders Hartsen. She was the first ship of this sized launched at this yard since 1796 when the pink ship Jan en Cornelis for the same owners was build.
