Belgian steamship British Queen sold according to the Dutch newspaper Zierikzeesche Courant dated Friday 19 September 1845

The steamship British Queen which was bought by the Belgian government for voyages towards America didn’t met the expectations and after lying for a long period unemployed in the dock at Antwerp, Belgium was she on 15 September for 238,000 francs sold to Mr. Reijnwit, a scrap metal dealer. The first effort to sell her was fruitless. The Belgian government spend more as 2.000.000 francs for buying and maintaining her.
