Launching of Italian submarine Archimede according to the Dutch newspaper Het Vaderland evening edition dated 12 December 1933

At the navy yard at Tarente was the new Italian submarine Archimede launched with a surfaced displacement of 1,000 tons and while submerged of 1,300 tons. The surfaced speed was 18 miles and surfaced 8 miles. The armament consisted of 8 torpedo tubes and 2-10cm guns.(1)
