Founding of British naval base at Rosyth delayed according to the Dutch newspaper Vlissingse Courant dated 3 March 1906

The secretary of the British Admiralty Edmund Robertson (1) told the Common House that the cabinet just slightly altered the navy budget compiled by her predecessor. The naval policy dealing with composition of the fleet was neither changed. The medium annual amount necessary for new building in the future was 9,500,000 pound sterling en he predicted that the navy budgets for 1911 and 1912 would show a total figure of 35,400,00 pound sterling. The building of the four new large warships according to the shipbuilding program would not start before the end of 1906. Considered the projected naval base at Rosyth said Robertson that although the cabinet still intended to execute this project were all activities stopped waiting for a new advice dealing with the chance in the dimensions of warships.
