French naval movements according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 8 February 1823

Paris, 3 February. A letter from Brest dated 28 January reported that the day before orders were received to fit out the 80-gun Centaurus (1) and the frigate Flora (2) immediately. On the roads were 2-74 gun ships of the line, a hulk, 2 frigates and several corvettes. All ships were prepared to depart when the order was given. The same orders came to late to prevent the departure of the ship of the line la Prudente (3) loaded with victuals and destined towards the squadron stationed at Rio Janeiro and the South Sea. She all ready departed 6 days earlier. The Jean Bart (4) rear admiral Meynard-Lafarge was ordered to depart immediately probably towards Martinique with on board 600.000 francs for this colony.
