The Portuguese ship of the line Don Joao VI and the ‘frigates’ Amazone and Urania according to the Dutch newspaper Zierikzeesche Courant dated 22 December 1829

In Lisbon, Portugal was 28th November announced that despite the anger within the ships carpenters, the repairs of the ship of the line Joao VI (1) nearly was completed and men still was hard working to repair the frigates Amazone (2) and Urania (3), which both returned damaged from Terceira.

1. Armed with 74 guns. Launched at Lisbon 24 August 1816. In 1852 while at Lisbon described as useless.
2. Armed with 50 guns, built at Para around 1798. Lastmentioned 1831.
3. Presumably the corvette Urania built at the Dez de Fevereiro at Baia in 1821 and armed with 24 guns. She was renamed 1823 Urania. Sold at Lisbon in 1852 as being useless.
