The Turkish naval shipbuilding at Boudroun 13 January 1831 as described by M. Michaud

I just translate the most important details dealing with the visit of Michaud at Boudroun. When he visited the town he saw the dock yard, lying behind the port. The building of the frigate there, started 7 years earlier. The available timber was for a larger part wormy and the ship self in a desolate state, nearly falling apart. The Greek labourers were obliged to work every year a month at the yard. The frigate wasn’t to be launched for April that yera.
