The Wilhelmina floating dock at Curaçao according to the Dutch newspaper Amigoe di Curacao dated 9 October 1926

This newspaper reported that a week earlier the dock owned by the C.P.I.M. was taken into service. Before doing so trials were done with the smallest ship available namely the tug Samson and then larger ships like the Neptunus en lighter Zeelandia and the Atlas. All these trials were very successful and the pumps managed to lift the dock with ship within 3 minutes. Within short time will the first oil tanker be docked.

An earlier edition dated 11 September 1926 supplied more details about the dock. It was delivered by the shipyard Nieuwe Waterweg at Schiedam, Netherlands in May with as dimensions 287.5½ x 76’6”x 8’7” (hold), a draught of 3¼’and a lifting capacity of 3,000 ton. The dock anchored in the Schottegat off Willemstad could also be used by other ships than those belonging to the Islafleet.
