American naval shipbuilding according to the Dutch newspaper Middelburgsche Courant dated 16 March 1779

According to letters received from North America was New England capable to fit out 1 74-gun ship of the line (ready in March), 10 40-gun frigates and 20 ships of 20-24 guns. This force was to be collected at Boston where the keel of another 74-gun ship was to be laid down.
