An announcement reported that the brokers T. Beth Ysbrandz. A. Dykman, S.A. Lenaertz, A.D. van Wijk, H. Snyders and J.H. de Witt intended to sell on Monday 27 October in the Nieuwezyds Heeren Logement at Amsterdam the extra ordinary well sailing fluytship De Resolutie, commandeur Barend Hendriks Bakker, dimensions 116 x 29’3”x 12’6” height verdeck 6’9” and the steering platform 9’2”, in 1783 fitted out with a new fore mast and all the whale catchers tools of the commandeur. The newspaper Amsterdamsche courant dated 21 October 1788 confirmed this announcement.
