British debris collecting vessels Driftwood II (1989) and III (1990)

Driftwood II of 1989 and Driftwood III of 1990 both built at the Delta Shipyard.  PLA Marine Service vessels of the London authority, used for clearing driftwood and other debris from the Thames which could pose a threat for the river traffic. For this purpose fitted out with a hydraulic crane and salvage pumps. Fitted out with twin Caterpillar 3306 DITA engines supplying 235 bhp allowing a speed of maximum 8 knots. With a displacement of 62 tonnes and as dimensions 14,4 x ? x 1,35 metres. Both vessels are joined by a Dory tender with a speed of 25 knots.
