An item reported that the secretary of navy John Sullivan (1) resigned as a protest against the decision of minister of war Louis Johnson to stop the building of a giant aircraft carrier.

1. John Lawrence Sullivan (16 June 1889-8 August 1982), he resigned because the secretary of defence cancelled the building of the United States, a carrier of 83,350 tons full load!. This cancelling was one example of the going on so-called Revolt of the Admirals conflict. Sullivan was assistant secretary between 5 July 1945 and 17 June 1946, under secretary between 17 Juen 1946 and 18 September 1947 and secretary between 18 September 1947 and 24 May 1949 and responsible for the American nuclear submarine project.
