French naval preparations at Toulon, France according to the Dutch newspaper Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 2 July 1844

An item reported that according to a tiding from Toulon the evolution squadron commanded by admiral Parseval-Deschènes which was anchored off the islands of Hyères consisting of the ships of the line l’Océan.le Neptune and le Marengo arrived on 23 June at Toulon probably to reinforce the naval force of the Prince van Joinville of the Moroccan coast.
