Bolivia founded own merchant navy according to the Dutch newspaper Amigoe di Curacao dated 7 August 1968

An item reported that despite the fact that Bolivia was a landlocked region her government decided to create her own merchant navy suitable to visit Pacific harbours. She would start on 17 August with three chartered Greek flagged ships.
