An item reported that tidings from Port Said were received reporting that last Tuesday the Turkish transport with 1,290 soldiers on board destined for Hodeida the channel entered when seven soldiers jumped overboard and escaped to El-Arisch. Wednesday morning deserted 170 soldiers. When the troops on board shoot at them were just five killed, the others escaped via the banks of both sides of the channel.
