Japan seizing two hundred merchant ships according to the Dutch newspaper Het Vaderland dated 9 December 1941

An item reported that the Japanese imperial headquarters announced that a day earlier two hundred merchant ships with a totally tonnage of 30.000 tons were seized including the 15.000 tons President Harrison. (1)

1. Japan was since the attack on Pearl Harbor on 7 December 1941 in war with the USA. The Netherlands declared war on Japan the next day. See for more details also the website http://www.usmm.org/harrison.html
