Japanese shipping company chartering freighters for wool transport according to the Dutch newspaper Het Vaderland dated 18 July 1936

An item reported that as a result of the trade conflict between Japan and Australia the Japanese shipping company Osaka Shosen Kaisha chartered 7-10,000 tons freighters to transport wool from South America to Japan. The import of Australian wool was limited and Japan intended to import now 15.000 bales wool from South America. Already were contracts signed for delivery of 140.000 bales.
