Dutch brig ship Sirius bound for Surabaya/Batavia according to the Dutch newspaper Nieuwe Rotterdamsche Courant dated 4 January 1869

An announcement reported that the very fast 500 tons Dutch brig ship Sirius captain W. van Hilten was to depart Amsterdam on very short notice towards Surabaya visiting Batavia for embarking passengers. For more details could be asked at shipbrokers Oolgaardt&Bruinier in Amsterdam.(1)

She was renamed Abraham in 1873, Geziena&Thecla in 1892 and wrecked in 1894 on Borkum. The newspaper Nieuwe Rotterdamsche Courant dated 25 March 1863 reported that the 21th at the shipyard of shipbuilders W.&A.H. Meursing in Nieuwendam the brig ship Sirius of around 400 tons was launched for Gebr. Goedkoop in Amsterdam captain W. van Wijngaarden van Rees.
