An item reported that the fast frigate ship Generaal Chassé captain M. de Winter was to depart middle January towards the Netherlands. Excellent passenger accommodation and a skilled doctor. For more details could be asked at the captain in Surabaya or A. Meijer&Co. at Batavia.(1)

1. The website http://www.scheepsindex.nl/schip.php?i=5329 reports that she was built in 1827 at the shipyard Rotterdams Welvaren, owned between 1834 and 1852 by J. Roelants&Co., Rotterdam, condemned in 1852 when she was loaded with a cargo of iron in Cardiff had an accident. Since then Dutch Indies flagged and in 1856 sunk off Formosa. The newspaper Algemeen Handelsblad dated 21 October 1852 published an item dated Cardiff 16 October reporting that she while leaving the harbour with a cargo of coal destined fro San Francisco she was grounded west of the harbour, but refloated and brought heavy leaking towards Penarts. The newspaper De Tijd dated 22 October published an item dated Cardiff 18 October that she was brought to Denarth to unload her cargo over there. The newspaper Algemeen Handelsblad dated 16 November published an item dated Cardiff 12 November that she was condemned. The newspaper Rotterdamsche Courant dated 21 December published an item dated Hong Kong dated 30 October that she underway from Amoy towards Ningpo between the 14th and 16th was heavily damaged during a storm. Captain was J. Rehling. I have not been able find yet a reference that she was built in 1827 in Rotterdam.
