Turkish merchant marine building program according to the Dutch newspaper Het Vader land dated 18 May 1935

An item reported that with the help of Russian and German experts Turkey edited a five year program which included the development of the merchant shipping and according to the Turkish press approved the cabinet a five year program to reorganize the merchant marine. The cabinet was to spent 8.000.000 Turkish pounds for building ten new passenger ships of 1.000-3.5000 to replace ten aged ships which were to be stricken.
