German frigate ship Duisburg bound for Batavia, Dutch East Indies according to the Dutch newspaper Nieuwe Rotterdamsche Courant dated 27 March 1856

An announcement reported that the Prussian newly built coppered and copper fastened frigate ship Duisburg captain J.F. Meijer with a measurement of around 800 lasten was to depart end April Bremerhaven towards Batavia. Extra ordinary modern fitted out cabins for passengers. 1. Emanuel Wambersie (11 October 1761 Gent, Belgium-6 October 1829 Aelter, Belgium) and Dionijs Burger jr. (26 January 1788 Rotterdam(-17 November 1860 Rotterdam) shipping agents firm Wambersie&Burger since 1 January 1821. He became partner in the firm Wambersie&Zoon on 1 February 1858.
