An item reported that the navy of South Vietnam consisted of nine frigates. 8 large patrol vessels, 45 gunboats, 7 coastal; minesweepers, 42 landing craft (included 21 small) and 1.000 river vessels varying between junks and small patrol vessels. Personnel strength 40.000 men.
