Chinese destroyer Hai Lung faster than contracted speed according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1898-1899 no. 7

An item referred to the foreign magazine Army and Naval Journal which reported that the Chinese destroyer Hai Lung built at the German shipyard Schichau at Elbing reached a speed of 35,2 miles during a trial over a distance of 19 miles. The Army and Naval Journal claimed that the German firms approximately built better engines as the American firms.
