The Greek naval strength according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad no. 12 dated 1939

An item reported that since the treaty between Greece and Turkey dated 30 October 1930 dealing with the naval strengths hardly new ships wer added to the Greek navy. Recently arrived the two newly in England built destroyers vassilefs Georgios A and the Vassilissa Olga in the naval base at Salamis and commissioned in Greek service. With a displacment of 1.900 (maximum) tons were the dimensions 97 x 10 x 2,6 metres and consisted the armament of 4-12,7cm guns, 8-21” torpedo tubes and 2 grenade launchers. Greece seemed to have according to this item none shipyards available to built such ships. Further more consisted the Greek navy of:
Battleship Kilkis, bought from the USA
Armoured cruiser Georgios Averoff 
Small cruiser Hellé, built 1912-1913, recently rebuilt with as displacement 2.115 ton and as dimensions 98,1 x 11,9 x 4,3 metres, a horsepower of 7.500 hp allowing a speed of 20,5 knots and an armament consisting of 3x15,2cm guns and 4x5,7cm guns.
Torpedo boats Hydra, Spetsai, Para and Coundouriotis, launched in Italy in 1931-1932 with a displacement of 1.350 tons, a draught of 3,8 metres and a horsepower of 48.000 hp allowing a speed of 39,5 knots.
Destroyers Aetos, Ierx, Leon and Panther launched in England in 1911. In 1924-1925 modernized. With a displacement of 1.013 ton, a draught of 2.6 metres and a horsepower of 19.750 hp allowing a speed of 32 knots.
Destroyers Thyella and Sphendoni launched in England in 1906-1907. Modernized between 1926 and 1928. With displacement of 305 tons, a draught of 2,7 metres and a speed of 28 knots.
Destroyers Niki and Aspis launched in Germany in 1905-1906. Modernized 1928-1929. With a displacement of 275 ton, a draught of 2,7 metres and a horsepower of 6.700 hp allowing a speed of 28 knots.
Destroyers Aigli, Alkyone, Arethoussa and Doris launched in Germany in 1913. Modernized between 1926 and 1930. With a displacement of 145 ton, a draught of 1,2 metres and a horsepower of 2.600 hp allowing a speed of 25 knots.
Submarines Glaukos, Nereus, Proteus and Triton launched in France according to the Simonot design 1927-1928. With a displacement of 700 (surfaced)-930 (submerged) ton, a draught of 42 metres, a horsepower of 1.420 (surfaced)-1.200(submerged) allowing a speed of 12 (surfaced)-9 (submerged) knots and an armament consisting of 1-10,1cm and 6 torpedo tubes.
Submarines Catsonis and Papanicolis launched in 1926 in France according to the Ariane-design. With a displacement of 576 (surfaced)-775 (submerged) tons and a draught of 3,3 metres, with a horsepwer of 1.300 (surfaced)-1.000 (submerged) hp allowing a speed of 12 (surfaced)-9 (submerged) knots and an armament consisting of 1-10,1cm and 4 torpedo tubes.
Patrol vessels Pergamos, Proussa, Kyzikos, Kios and Kidoiniai launched in Austria between 1913 and 1916. Modernized 1925. With a displacement of 241 tons and a horsepower of 5.000 hp allowing a speed of 26 knots.
And further more the vedettes T1 and T2 (built at Thornycroft with a speed of 40 knots, the training ship Arèw, work shop Hifaistos, petrol tanker Prometheus, transports Tenedos, Korgialenios and the Paralos, fresh water tanker Avra and 7 smaller vessels.
