Former German cruiser became submarine mother ship according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1912-1913 no. 7

An item reported that the light German cruiser Hamburg was commissioned as a mother ship for the submarines.(1)

1. Of the Bremen-class. Launched at the shipyard of AG Vulcan, Stettin on 25 July 1903, since 6 August 1912 mother ship, 1935 floating barracks, sunk in 1944 in the harbour of Hamburg during an air attack, 1949 salvaged and finally broken up in 1956.
