An item referred to the magazine Le Yacht reporting that already the armament of the Japanese battleships Satsuma (1) and Aki (2) seemed to be altered. In stead of 12-25,4cm guns planned to be added to the main armament consisting of 30,5 cm guns, was for the secondary armament alsoe chosen for the claibre 30,5cm. Other sources claimed however 10-30,5cm L/50 guns.

1. Laid down at the Yokosuka Naval Arsenal on 15 May 1905, launched on 15 November a year later, commissioned on 25 March 1910 was she sunk on 7 September 1924 while being used as a target. If there had been no lacking of guns she and not the British HMS Dreadnought had been the first modern all-big gun battleship. Her armament consisted of 2x2-12”/(30,5cm) guns, 6x2-10”/25,4cm guns, 12-4.7”/11,9cm guns, 7-3”/7,6cm guns and 5-18”/45,7cm torpedo tubes.
2. Despite her silhouette differs from the Satsuma and she being out with turbines is she sometimes considered as a sister ship of the Satsuma. Laid down at the Kure Naval Arsenal on 15 March 1906, launched on 14 April a year later, commissioned on 11 March 1911, stricken on 7 September 1923 and finally sunk on 7 September a year later while used as a target.
