Last part of the French-Batavian flotilla leaving Flushing according to the Dutch newspaper Groninger courant dated 25 September 1804

An item dated Flushing the 19th reported that the last part of the flotilla (1) left Flushing underway to Oostende, Belgium arriving their around 24.00 o‘clock. Their departure at 13.30 o’clock was sighted by thousands of spectators. It were the 18 heavy armed schooners no.‘s 37-54 commanded by captain Staring. Their armament consisted of 3-30 pd guns, 4-8pd guns and a 24 pd howitzer. Their crew numbering 115 men consisted of French and Batavian sailors. The front part of the division was commanded by captain G. de Veer, the middle part by captain Ouwens and the rear part by captain Carpentier.
