Chinese chartered German cargo vessel Pelikan according to the Dutch newspaper De Sumatra Post dated 26 November 1941

An item dated Tientsin the 20th reported the arrival in the evening of the 19th of the 600 ton cargo vessel Pelikan showing the swastika and which anchored at the Chinese bank of the River and loading a cargo. She was registered at Shanghai and staff members of the German consulate stated that she was German property but chartered by the Chinese.
