Dutch steam tanker Charlois passing Prawlepoint while underway towards Philadelphia, USA according to the Dutch newspaper Rotterdamsch nieuwsblad dated 8 April 1903

An item reported that on the 5th the steam tanker Charlois passed Prawlepoint underway from Amsterdam towards Philadelphia.(1)

1. Launched in December 1888 at the shipyard of Russell&Co., Greenock, England for account of the S.S. Charlois Co. Ltd. (+Hermann. Stursberg&Co.), New York, USA.
On 19 March 1917 sunk and torpedoed off the Norwegian coast by the German submarine U 59 underway from New York towards Rotterdam. Since 1891 Netherlands-flagged (N.V. American Petroleum Company of Rotterdam, the predecessor of ESSO). With a gross register tonnage of 2.744 tons, a net tonnage of 2.116 tons, a deadweight of 3.500 tons and as dimensions 94,5 x 11,94 x 767 (hold) metres.
